Anime Evolution 2009

ANIME EVOLUTION 2009
Vancouver Convention Centre
BC., CANADA

Anime Evolution 2009 is Vancouver’s premiere Asian popular cultural event where audiences and industry interact directly in an informal setting.

The three-day convention is expected to draw close to 5,000 people and brings together art, animation (anime), comic books (manga), video games, film and music in a celebration of Asian popular culture and multimedia.

The convention highlights Vancouver’s local anime talent in addition to the work of other professionals in the industry.

Cosplay (short for Costume Play) where attendees dress up as their favourite video game, comic book and animated characters is encouraged. Gutsier attendees can participate in a fashion show or take part in the highly-competitive singing contest, Anime Idol.

The Convention Centre is incredibly massive, I’m sure I’ve walked/run miles and miles inside and around the building taking photographs. A lot happening in the same second, unfortunately I cannot be in 7 different places at the same time. My arm felt like it will pop out from the socket any moment, carrying my digital camera that weight like a Ton. All and all, it was a blast and a fun experience!

Thank you to all attendants and artists and everyone who involves in the production, logistic, security, and all the volunteer! Anyone who missed it should keep an eye for it next year.

Enjoy these photos from the event.
